Educational trips
Four trips a year, each tied to something being studied that term. Costs are in the fees.
Term 1, OctoberThe lakeshore, the monkeys, and a field notebook each. Half of Cambridge Science stage 2 happens on this one day.
Primary 1 to 3
Term 2, JanuaryWeighing, costing and bargaining with real money, then the arithmetic back in the classroom. They leave at six in the morning.
Primary 3
Term 2, MarchThe ethnography and archaeology galleries, tied to the Global Perspectives unit on how a country tells its own history.
Primary 4 and 5
Term 3, JuneFour days on a working farm. Feeding, mucking out, and the first time most of them meet a cow at close range.

Everything the garden grows beyond what the kitchen needs is boxed on Friday by Primary 4 and collected by neighbouring families.

Children collect, clean and repair donated books, then deliver them to two community libraries. Repairs are done in the atelier.

Packed by the whole school in one afternoon in December, delivered by Primary 5 and a convoy of parents.
