A continuous learning journey, from the first years of care and discovery through the Cambridge Primary framework.

Foundation 1
2 – 3 years
Foundation 1 is where a child's love of learning begins. In a warm, nurturing Montessori inspired environment, our youngest learners explore, discover and grow at their own pace.
Foundation 2
3 – 4 years
In Foundation 2, children build on the confidence and curiosity they developed in Foundation 1. Within our Montessori inspired environment, they move from exploring to doing: working independently with hands-on materials, growing their early reading, writing and number skills, and learning to express their ideas through art, music and imaginative play.
Reception
4 – 5 years
Reception is where curiosity turns into a confident love of learning. Building on the strong foundations of Foundation 2, children begin to read, write and work with numbers more independently, using hands-on Montessori materials that make ideas real and meaningful.

Cambridge Early Years

At Eco-Bloom, our daycare and kindergarten are inspired by the Montessori approach, where children learn through hands-on exploration, independence, and curiosity. In calm, nurturing classrooms, each child grows at their own pace, building confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. We are an inclusive school in Kampala, Uganda, welcoming children of all abilities. Alongside strong early foundations, we nurture respect, compassion, and pride in our African heritage, and we work in harmony with nature. Hours: Arrival at 07:30, Classes from 8:00 to 13:00 in Foundation 1, and to 15:00 by Reception

YEAR 1 |
Ages: 5 – 6 years
Year 1 is where young learners take their first confident steps into primary school. Building on the strong start made in Reception, children deepen their reading, writing and mathematical thinking, using hands-on Cambridge Primary Years Program materials alongside engaging projects that bring learning to life.
YEAR 1 & 2 |
Ages: 5 – 7 years
Lower Primary Year 1&2 Lower Primary is where children grow from eager beginners into confident, independent learners. Building on the strong foundations of our early years, children deepen their reading, writing and mathematical thinking through hands-on inspired Montessori materials, real-world projects and meaningful choice in their learning. Through STEAM exploration, music, art, outdoor learning and time in nature, children develop curiosity, resilience and responsibility for themselves, others and the environment.
Upper Primary
7 – 11 years
Upper Primary, going from Year 3 to Year 6, is where children step into leadership of their own learning. With strong foundations in place, they read widely, write with purpose and tackle more complex mathematical and scientific questions.

Primary at Eco-Bloom: Cambridge Curriculum In primary, Eco-Bloom builds on the Montessori foundations of independence and curiosity with the Cambridge Primary curriculum, an internationally respected framework. Children develop strong skills in English, Mathematics, and Science, alongside creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Our classes are inclusive and learner-centred, with hands-on projects, STEAM activities, and outdoor learning that make lessons meaningful. We celebrate each child's strengths and track progress carefully, so every learner is supported and challenged. Beyond academics, we nurture confidence, good character, and pride in African heritage, preparing children to thrive as global citizens. Believe. Inspire. Innovate.

Clubs

Three clubs, in term time and in the holidays

All three run inside the school day during term, so nothing is missed and no separate pick-up is needed. In the holidays they run longer, and are open to children from outside the school.

Piano
One to one and in small groups, from Foundation 2 upwards. The school keeps the instruments, so nothing needs buying to start.
